1930s Gibson banjo, with great tone. Originally a 4 string professionally modified into a 5 string with Scruggs type tuners. Unconfirmed information from the seller says that the neck and tone ring were modified in Nashville by Jim Granger and Steve Huber. Both are well respected in this field. Beautiful piece from the golden age of banjos!
