"The Banjo has always been considered a loud instrument. But, when I tried to add it to a group with drums, bass and electric guitars it disappeared. I tried every pickup on the market, but could not get my Banjo loud enough without creating feedback. I strung an old electric guitar with banjo strings, but it just sounded like an electric guitar (being played like a banjo). This did, however get me thinking about magnetic pickups and fresh approaches to their use on the banjo. I knew if I needed this for myself that others would too!"
